Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a phone call in late fall when Geisha gave birth to three kittens. The woman caring for her explained that Geisha had an insulated, heated cat house on her front porch and was well known and friendly within the neighborhood. This was Geisha’s second litter, and while bringing the family into care was discussed early on, the woman felt they would manage outdoors. Pet Patrol encouraged moving them into the garage so they could at least be protected from the wind while still using their heated shelter. Weeks passed, and it wasn’t until the kittens were around ten weeks old that the call finally came. By then, Geisha and her babies had endured over two months of a brutal winter—facing wind, rain, freezing temperatures, and deep snow. Unfortunately, the kittens had very limited human handling during that time, meaning socialization would take patience and time. Through it all, Geisha remained her happy, easygoing self, and once in care, this little family could finally begin a safer chapter with the support they needed.
