Rescue:
Sugar first appeared on a woman’s deck about two months before coming into Pet Patrol’s care. She was extremely thin, frightened, and clearly struggling to survive outdoors. After a little time, the woman began feeding her and posted online in hopes of finding an owner, but no one came forward. Others in the neighbourhood had noticed Sugar, too, but she always returned to this one home — sleeping on the deck chairs, curling up in the garden, and finding comfort beneath the trees that bordered the property. With each day she grew more trusting, knocking on the door when she saw food coming and greeting the woman with head rubs and leg nudges. As the weather shifted to colder, wetter days and nights, it was clear Sugar needed real shelter and safety. Unable to bring her indoors longterm, the woman reached out for help — and Sugar was brought into Pet Patrol care, finally warm, fed, and protected after months of fending for herself.
Personality:
Sugar is a calm, loving girl who has truly mastered the art of relaxation. She’s a dedicated day napper, popping up a few times throughout the day for snacks and gentle affection. Sugar adores wand toys—especially in the mornings and at bedtime—and enjoys quiet evenings spent watching a movie with her people. At night, she sleeps on top of the covers, pressed close against your torso or leg, and insists on having your hand resting on her until she drifts off. If you stop too soon, she’ll gently headbutt you to remind you she’s not ready yet. Sweet, affectionate, and a little clever when it comes to treats, Sugar is content sitting nearby and may become a lap cat in time. Sugar is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
