Rescue:
In a remote town, a woman who runs a small cat rescue had long been keeping an eye on a mother
cat who regularly appeared on her neighbour’s property. The yard backed onto open fields leading
to farms, with a deck, shed, and woodpile that provided shelter — and for years this clever mama
returned to have her litters there. Despite many attempts, she has never been successfully trapped;
she is exceptionally smart, even rolling humane traps until the food falls out so she can eat without
entering. Over the years she has had eight or nine litters, and rescuers have worked tirelessly to
help her. This season, five kittens were spotted at about eight weeks old — just at the age when
they become vulnerable to illness, predators, and the busy road out front. They were safely
rescued, brought indoors, and socialized in a warm environment with consistent food, water, and
care. Once ready, they came into Pet Patrol’s care, giving them the opportunity for healthy, happy
indoor lives that their mother never had.
Personality:
Newt is a sweet, easygoing kitten who absolutely loves pets and cuddles. Just a few chin scratches
and he immediately rolls onto his side, purrs happily, and kneads the air with delight. He is gentle
when seeking affection, often climbing into your lap to rub his nose against you and ask for more
love. Newt also adores the company of other cats — he cuddles his brothers, looks to his feline
friends for reassurance when startled, and enjoys playful games of chase with those who share his
energy. Observant and thoughtful, he is learning confidence from older resident cats and continues
to blossom into a loving, affectionate companion. Newt is looking for a family who will enjoy his soft
nature and keep him company — ideally one with another friendly cat or willing to adopt him with a sibling. Newt is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
