Rescue:
A volunteer noticed an urgent posting on a lost pet site about a very friendly little calico who had
shown up in a new subdivision wanting inside. This was Maple. She had belonged to a family who
loved her, but she was determined to go outdoors and continually slipped out, upsetting neighbours
by catching wildlife. After three trips to the shelter and three returns through her microchip, the
family sadly decided rehoming her was the only safe option. She then went to a hobby farm where
a proper introduction was done — but one day she bolted from the barn, vanished across the fields,
and was gone. A week later — six kilometres away — she turned up in the subdivision where she
was found. Since entering Pet Patrol care, Maple has shown no desire to go outside and is
completely content indoors, ready for a proper family again.
Personality:
Maple is a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely adores people. She loves nothing more than
snuggling into your lap while you gently pet her or scratch her cheeks, purring contentedly the
whole time. When cuddle time is over, Maple becomes talkative and expressive, clearly letting you
know what she wants with her soft little mews. She enjoys light, gentle play with wand toys and is
happiest when she can relax and spend quiet time with her humans. Maple will thrive in a calm
home where she can be the only pet and have the time she needs to feel completely secure. Maple
is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep
her safely indoors.
