Rescue:
Earlier in the year, two Pet Patrol volunteers visited a nearby farm to offer help with spaying and
neutering their cats. There were a few kittens there, now creeping up to about five months old, who
needed vet care, vaccines, and sterilization. One of these young cats was Jakara — a pretty grey
and white girl who was friendly, affectionate, and clearly well-suited
to indoor life. We always hope
that cats like her can spend their lives curled up on a couch beside their people, not outside among
farm hazards. But at that time the family would not allow her to be released into our care. Jakara
remained on the farm — tiptoeing around horse hooves, avoiding piles of manure, and digging
through straw for food — instead of enjoying the warmth and safety she deserved. Fast forward
eight months, and the family eventually agreed that a better future awaited her. Jakara entered Pet
Patrol care, adapted quickly to sanctuary life, and has shown us exactly who she is — a sweet,
affectionate cat who was always meant to be indoors, loved, and safe.
Personality:
Jakara is a sweet, affectionate girl who has adapted beautifully to the comfort and safety of indoor
life. She loves attention and is quick to come over when called, happily leaning in for pets and
gentle affection. Once a farm cat navigating a challenging outdoor life, she now delights in running
around, playing with toys, and enjoying the warmth of human companionship. Jakara would do very
well in a home with another friendly kitty, as she enjoys company and settles in quickly when she
feels secure. Jakara is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into
the family and keep her safely indoors.
