Skooch

Skooch

Rescue:

Skooch got his name from the sweet phrase his elderly owner often said to him—“Come here and
scooch over beside me.” For years, he was her beloved companion in a quiet home, where it was
just the two of them. No hustle or bustle, just gentle routines and warm companionship. As time
passed, Skooch became quite overweight, and being a fluffier haired cat, his grooming needs were
more than his owner could manage. It wasn’t until he came into Pet Patrol’s care that it became
clear he was also in need of some chiropractic support to help him feel more comfortable. His
weight made moving difficult, and he wasn’t as happy as he could be. After waiting two and a half
years for a spot in the long-term
care home, Skooch’s owner finally got the call—but had just five
days to move. It was a whirlwind of emotion, and her greatest concern was making sure Skooch
would be okay. Thankfully, Pet Patrol was able to step in and give this gentle boy the support he
needed. Skooch is on a path toward better health and comfort, with a future full of love still ahead.

Personality:

Scooch is a big, stalky boy with a gentle soul and a big heart! While the bustle of the sanctuary can
feel a bit overwhelming at times, this sweet boy finds comfort in the quiet of his cozy space. But
don’t let that fool you—Scooch is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than quality time
with his people. When you sit with him, he’ll nuzzle your face and give the softest kisses, soaking
up every bit of love without ever demanding it. He’s the kind of cat who will happily curl up beside
you on the couch, quietly purring and giving gentle nudges when he’s ready for more pets. His purr
is a soft, content hum—a subtle reminder of how happy he is just to be close. Scooch may be a bit
reserved in a busy space, but in a calm and loving home, he’ll be your constant companion, a loyal
friend with a heart of gold. He’s looking for a place where he can relax, be adored, and never feel
overwhelmed again. Scooch is ready to be adopted into his forever home—one that will welcome
him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
