Rescue:
Pet Patrol was contacted after five young kittens were discovered on a quiet country road between two small towns. They appeared out of a ditch, desperate for help, and ran desperately to the humans. They were anxiously crying and began climbing up the rescuer’s legs despite her two large dogs. Starving, sick, and only about six weeks old, the kittens had clearly been abandoned. After being brought safely home, their rescuer returned and found their mother, Stella, nearby. Despite her poor condition, she had been doing her best to care for her babies. Stella eagerly came forward, as if relieved to finally receive help. The little family was brought to safety, examined by a vet, and began to thrive in foster care. With plenty of food, warmth, and love, the kittens grew stronger each day and blossomed into a happy, playful bunch — four girls with big personalities, each bonded in pairs, and their devoted mama watching proudly nearby.
Personality:
Melanie is a bold, curious, and hilarious little tabby who loves to explore every nook and cranny. She’s a natural-born adventurer — playful, energetic, and always the first to greet her humans. Melanie has a silly side too, once discovering the toilet and quickly realizing she wasn’t cut out for swimming! Her favorite pastime is batting her jingle ball across the floor like a hockey pro. This pretty girl is deeply bonded with her calico sister, Sophia, and the pair love to wrestle, chase, and cuddle up for naps together. Melanie is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
