Rescue:
Shawnee first came to Pet Patrol in the summer of 2022, transferred from the local humane society. Originally, she had been part of a trap neuter and release program, intended to return to her outdoor environment. However, it quickly became clear that Shawnee was a friendly and affectionate girl who thrived on human interaction. Recognizing her sweet nature, the decision was made not to release her back outdoors. Shawnee was welcomed into Pet Patrol’s care, where she could enjoy safety, comfort, and the love she so clearly craved. Her story is a reminder that sometimes the kindest thing for a cat isn’t to return them to the streets, but to provide them with a forever home where they can truly flourish.
Personality:
Shawnee is a very sweet compact little cat who has lived at the sanctuary since her rescue. She has never known the luxuries of a home, a person of her own, a soft bed, couch, or the constant companionship of a person. It would be very exciting for her to be able to explore her new home and feel the love that we hope for for all of our cats. She is a very special little cat with Pet Patrol. She is fine with other cats as long as they are accepting and loving towards her. It might take a little while for her to adjust to all the newness but she will in time. Shawnee is finally ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
