Buddy

Rescue:

Buddy’s story began when he arrived at the doorstep of a kindhearted elderly woman on a cold day. As wary young cat, he hesitated at first, but with patience and love, she lured him inside. At first, he hid behind the washing machine cautiously observing his new home, but slowly, he ventured out into the rec room, where he found warmth, safety, and unconditional love. Deeply cherished, Buddy was given everything he wanted—his favorite foods, a cozy home, and all the affection his rescuer could offer but from a distance. He formed a close bond with her cat and together they would race around the house at night, playing like mischievous children. However, while he adored his mom, he was timid around strangers, choosing to observe from a safe hiding spot. When his beloved owner passed away, Buddy’s world changed. The other cat went to a family member, and Buddy found himself needing a new home. Now in Pet Patrol’s care, he is adjusting to a new life. With patience and love, this sweet boy will continue to blossom.

Personality:

Buddy is a quiet, observant soul who prefers the company of other cats over people. At the sanctuary, he’s often found curled up with his feline friends on top of the cages, peacefully watching the world go by from above. While he isn’t overly fond of human interaction, he enjoys his independence and has carved out his own comforting routine. When the sanctuary quiets down, Buddy comes to life—chasing toys across the floor, indulging in anything with catnip, and rolling around with playful delight. Though he expresses himself with hisses and the occasional spit, it’s just his way of saying, “please give me space.” He’s never aggressive—just a cat with strong boundaries and a big personality. Pet Patrol is happy to continue caring for this beautiful, petite boy and giving him the sanctuary life that suits him best.
