Rescue:
Meredith, a grey tabby, first appeared one winter at a woman’s home, drawn in by the food she put
out. In February, she was caught but managed to escape, only to return again in late April—very
pregnant. Two and a half months later, she was trapped again, but it was clear she was still
nursing. Released to find her kittens, she led her rescuer to a hole under a neighbour’s cement
porch. Once home to a raccoon or skunk, the hollow space had become Meredith’s safe nursery. All
seven kittens, just six weeks old, were rescued and taken to the city shelter. Sadly, because they’d
never been handled, the shelter staff didn’t have volunteers experienced enough to socialize them,
so they were spayed and eartipped
before being returned to their rescuer. Now, in Pet Patrol’s
care with an experienced foster, these kittens have blossomed—learning that people mean love,
food, and safety.
Personality:
Mist is a playful little girl with a heart full of curiosity and adventure. This shorthaired
sweetheart
loves exploring her surroundings and can turn anything into a game, whether it’s chasing toys,
batting at strings, or pouncing with delight. Once she’s had her fill of fun, Mist shows off her softer
side, curling up close as the ultimate snuggle buddy. She brings both laughter and comfort in equal
measure, making her a perfect companion for someone looking for a kitten who’s both spirited and
affectionate. Mist is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the
family and keep her safely indoors.
