Rescue:
She was posted on Kijiji—“free to a good home,” they said—because she was born without a front
leg. But something didn’t sit right. When her foster reached out and offered to help, the people
initially agreed, but then suddenly claimed they’d “lost her.” Refusing to give up, her foster drove
over an hour to their rural property. What she found was heartbreaking. The lawn was scattered
with sick goats tied to buckets, chickens in cramped quarters, and an overcrowded, chaotic home.
Cookie had been living in the filthy garage, now wide open to the elements. After a search around
the property, they finally spotted her—tucked under a truck, hiding on the gravel, one eye badly
infected. But she was safe now. That tiny, trembling kitten was finally going to know comfort, love,
and a real chance at life.
Personality:
Missing a leg doesn’t slow Cookie down one bit—she’s our little “super kitten” with a superpower:
speed! Fast, fearless, and full of bounce, she loves toys, other kittens, and zooming from one end
of the room to the other. She’s also sweet with children, having been raised with a five and
nine year old
in her foster home. When it’s cuddle time, Cookie shows her softer side. She adores curling up
beside the resident senior pug, sunbathing on the couch, or being cradled like a baby by her foster
family. Brave, playful, and endlessly endearing, Cookie is a little miracle on three paws. Cookie is
ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors.
