Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a heartfelt message from a woman in a town far from the sanctuary. She had
been caring for five tiny kittens, just six weeks old. All were suffering from conjunctivitis—swollen,
crusty eyes that made it difficult to see, play, or even find their food. Despite cleaning their faces
every day and trying home treatments, the kittens weren’t getting better. She reached out, worried
and overwhelmed. “I can’t afford a vet visit,” she wrote, “but I just want them to be okay.” It was
clear she truly cared about their wellbeing
and wanted to give them the best chance at a healthy
life. We quickly arranged transportation to bring the kittens into Pet Patrol’s care. Thanks to one
woman’s kindness and quick action—and a team of dedicated volunteers—these five little ones are
now on the road to recovery, safe, warm, and ready for a brighter future.
Personality:
Tonka and Twinkie are a dynamic duo who have truly blossomed since arriving at Pet Patrol. Once
a little uncertain, with love and care they’ve become inseparable best friends, always found
snuggled up, playing, or racing through the house together. Twinkie is a sweet, affectionate girl who
loves to give kisses and follow you from room to room like a loyal puppy. When she’s ready for a
break, she’s happiest curled up in your lap for a cozy nap. Tonka is a playful boy with a special
prize, his beloved spring toy, that he proudly carries from room to room, chirping as he goes.
Both adore chasing the laser light, their favourite game to play together. Tonka also enjoys long
snoozes on your lap when the day winds down. Whether it’s playing, sleeping, or eating, Tonka and
Twinkie do everything side by side. They are ready to be adopted into their forever home. One that
will welcome them into the family, keep them safely indoors.
