Rescue:
Not every cat who comes through Pet Patrol’s doors has had a family. Some are concidered feral,
never having known a gentle touch of a human, and become part of our Trap Neuter Release
(TNR) program. That was believed to be the case for Patches. A woman living in a small village
near the sanctuary had been feeding a black and white cat who first appeared in the fall, then
vanished over winter. When he returned in the spring, something had changed, he was friendly,
affectionate, and clearly seeking connection. She brought him to the vet, where a microchip scan
revealed a surprise: Patches had already been through Pet Patrol’s TNR program, and known back
then only as “PP5.” He had likely been one of many cats fixed and released on a barn property,
but somewhere along the way, Patches decided he wanted more than survival. He wanted a home.
Now back in Pet Patrol’s care, this sweet, social boy is no longer just a number. He’s ready for the
next step—a forever family, where affection is always returned and kindness is a daily part of life.
Personality:
Patches is an easygoing, affectionate boy who charms everyone he meets. With his sweet little
meow and gentle nature, he’s often found wandering the sanctuary looking for someone to give him
the pets and attention he adores. This lovely boy is incredibly friendly, he’ll bunt your hand for
head scratches and lean right into a good cuddle session. Patches gets along wonderfully with
other cats and is happy to share his space, toys, and sunbeams. He has a calm, confident
presence and brings a sense of comfort wherever he goes. Whether he’s weaving around your legs
or lounging nearby, Patches just wants to be close and loved. Patches is ready to be adopted into
his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
