Rescue:
Larry spent nearly eight years living on the edge of survival. He first appeared at a Pet Patrol
volunteer’s feeding station, skittish and scared, always darting away at the slightest movement.
Traps were set, warm shelters were offered—but Larry refused help. He had clearly been through a
lot. Within the first year, he showed signs of injury, likely from being hit by a car, and began
hobbling on three legs. Yet still, he returned, year after year, to the same spot, injured but resilient.
Through bitter winters and countless fights, Larry stayed tough, protecting himself the only way he
knew how. The volunteer watched over him, her concern growing with each passing season,
wondering how much longer he could go on. Over time, Larry slowly let her get closer, accepting
food, allowing the lightest touch, but always pulling away. Then, this spring, everything changed.
Maybe it was the long, harsh winters, or maybe Larry finally realized he didn’t have to do it all alone
anymore. When the humane trap was set, Larry—tired and ready—walked right in. No hesitation.
After years of hardship, he’s ready for the warm, loving home he’s always deserved.
Personality:
After years of outdoor life, Larry is now living the good life at the sanctuary, and he’s loving every
minute. This sweet boy has traded gravel and cold nights for soft wicker baskets and sunny naps in
warm indoor spaces. He adores being petted, enjoys being picked up, and greets volunteers with
enthusiasm. Larry has a calm, grateful nature and would thrive in a quiet home, possibly with one
gentle and accepting cat to keep him company. Larry is ready to be adopted into his forever home.
One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
