Rescue:
Freckles was discovered in a rural backyard, underneath some stairs, in the shadows trying to
hide. This little guy was very thin and feeling defeated, his coat was filthy and he was limping.
Not able to put weight on his back right foot he knew he was vulnerable to coyotes and hawks
so he hid as much as he could. Luckily he was found by the man who lives in the house and
he started feeding him, trying to gain Freckles trust. The weather was cold and damp, and he
was noticeably shivering. With the smell of canned cat food, this handsome, but suffering boy,
was easy to entice into a humane trap that was serving warmed up food. Soon he was
brought into Pet Patrol care and off to the vet within a day. He had a wound on his toe and that
was the reason for the limp, but it has cleared up beautifully now. Overtime, this lovely boy has
gained weight and is always accepting pets and head scratches
Personality:
Freckles is a gentle guardian at heart, often making “patrols” around the house to check in on his
people before stopping for a good chin scratch or some quiet reassurance. He’s slowly learning that
a person moving isn’t a threat, and now even accepts pets on the walkby.
While he isn’t ready to
be picked up just yet, he has started allowing paw touches when he’s relaxed in a loaf, showing his
growing trust. Freckles is polite with other cats and enjoys interactive play, especially chasing the
laser light, batting at string toys, or bunnykicking
a catnip toy. He’s not picky about food—he’ll
happily eat anything—but prefers to take his time adjusting to new meals. Because he once sought
long hiding spots, he appreciates a very deep litter box and a home where he feels secure. With
patience and kindness, Freckles is blossoming into a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing
more than to keep watch over his family. Freckles is ready to be adopted into his forever home.
One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
