Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a call about three kittens, Java, Jett and Juno, that were on a property,
cared for by children. Unfortunately there was quite a concern about the proper care for the
babies and the neighbours were watching closely. One day they observed the children taking
the kittens into the house in the evening, and next morning putting them outside again to be
greeted by the frantic mother cat. The kittens were just three weeks of age at the time and
should not have been restricted from nursing for that long. This went on for a number of days
until someone said something and then the kittens were left outside at night. On one particular
day, the children were seen to put leashes on the wee babies and try to walk them like a dog,
but being uncoordinated they stumbled and fell. Other improper things were done as well until
finally the neighbour went over with a carrier and gathered up the kittens and told the parents
what the children were doing and left with them. They were eventually brought into Pet Patrol
care and have since thrived in a safe and comforting environment. .
Personality:
ava is an adorable kitten with the biggest, sweetest eyes. His strong black stripes meet up
on his back, giving him a black back from the top of his head to the tip of his tail. He loves lots
of chin and belly rubs as he wakes up from his naps, and will rub his tiny body against you,
arching into the pets while purring and his tail held up like a little flagpole. Then it’s time to play
and he can’t wait to chase balls across the room, keeping a keen eye on it before the pounce
and roll. Java can be a little shy at first and big noises and sudden movements are sometimes scary, but he’ll warm up quickly and be a great addition to your family. If you adopt him
with his brother Juno you can play ‘which is which?’ – they are almost twins! Java is ready to
ready to be adopted into his forever home with a sibling or playmate. One that will welcome
him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
