Rescue:

One of Pet Patrol’s volunteers mentioned a situation on a friend’s country property. The
woman’s husband had recently passed away and she was trying to take care of the property herself. Her family members were concerned for her and were hoping she would
consider moving closer to them, about 45 minutes away. But in many cases, our homes
are not sale-ready immediately, they need some TLC,. One of her concerns was the
number of cats she was looking after in the barn. They were friendly, we were told, but
also that there were about 12 or 15 of them. Yikes! The first thing that we asked for was
photos of the cats individually, with their age, colour, male or female and temperament.
We were delighted to see that eight of the cats were babies, but sad to see that they were
living in an open box on the porch. They were not allowed indoors and they would not go
to the barn. Little Alyx and his siblings and cousins came into our care on a cold, wet and
windy day. They were a little worse for wear but have overcome everything and are happy
and healthy babies now.

Personality:

Alyx is a sweet little kitten who is easy to pick up and carry around. He is interested in his
surroundings, but may be hesitant in a new environment and need time to adjust. Give
him time and lots of love, and he will claim your lap as the best spot in the house. He is
quite content to play with other cats, and can be found stealing toys and playing hide and
seek with them in boxes or from under the couch. He is a big fan of ribbons and wand
toys, competing for the best flying leap and capture. You will find him curled up on your lap
or beside you or with a best buddy. perfectly content to share a snooze. This cute boy is
ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and
keep him safely indoors.
