Rescue:
One of our former foster homes gave Pet Patrol a call about some kittens that she had found.
She and her partner had been doing business at a farm property about 30 minutes outside of
the city. When they arrived in the scorching 30+ degrees heat they discovered kittens sitting
numbly on the lawn. They didn’t know what to do or where to go as the sun barrelled down on
them. This was Lolli and her siblings. They all had colds, eye infections (to the point where one
kitten could not see at all because the infection had sealed his eyes shut). And then there was
little Lolli who had an extremely ulcerated eye. The wee babies were stumbling around and
stopping in fear and exhaustion. The volunteer gathered up the kittens and knowing there were
five in total asked if they could take the last one. The owner of the property replied “I don’t want
you to take all the kittens”. Pet Patrol continues to try and rescue this last kitten in hopes of
saving its life. The four that did come into our care were treated for their ailments and little Lolli
had an eye enucleation the very next day. All have thrived in our care.
Personality:
Lolli is very easy to pick up, cuddle, cradle and carry. She recovered quickly from her left eye
being removed and the vet tried desperately to save her other eye, as it was mildly ulcerated.
Time, patience and good medical care worked in her favour and she has thrived in her foster
home and gets around just fine. Lolli will to sit with you while you watch TV or work on the
computer, purring deeply with her person. Like all kittens she is curious and interested in
everything that is going on around and will climb up to the top of the cat tree and watch the
volunteers at the sanctuary take care of everything. Playing with toys has been such a joy for
her, something she had never seen before. She is having the time of her life. Lolli is very interactive and affectionate with other cats and will need a buddy in her new home. (BFF right now
is Petal) She is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the
family and keep her safely indoors.
