Rescue:
Here’s is the rescue story for Chico. He was one of four cats, most approximately a year in age
who were allowed to roam free in the neighborhood. The person that the neighbours felt were
responsible for the cats was not feeding them, and instead relying on people close by to do that.
As the only male and as what would happen, all the females became pregnant. One woman took
it upon herself to contact Pet Patrol and offered to bring the cats into her house so that the kittens
would be born inside and the first one she brought inside was Chico. Next day he was neutered
and then she brought him to Pet Patrol care, and suddenly all three females disappeared. What
is assumed happened is that the woman quickly brought the three females into the house to have
their kittens and raise them – then sells them. This is a person on very low income and every little
bit of money helps, but this is not what is working for the overpopulation or the health of these
cats. Sad situation.
Personality:
Chico is adorable. He is sweet, gentle and easy going. He loves the attention and in return will
give you cuddles and kisses. He is good with the other cats in the sanctuary and can be found
chasing after the Cat Dancer toy, or peering at you from inside the kitty tunnel. Chico is our
neighborhood watch cat as he is usually in the window peering out at the birds and traffic. He
also watches the antics of the other cats in the playroom and stretches out for a nice nap in a
comfy kitty bed. He is ready to be adopted into a gentle and loving home. One that will adore
him as much as he adores his care givers here, welcome him into the family and keep him safely
indoors.
