Rescue:

In a small town, north of the sanctuary, a husband and wife had been living a quiet life and
took in five friendly, homeless cats. They loved them all and treated them well, but were
concerned about creating a larger colony if they could not get them fixed soon. Most rural
areas do not have low-cost clinics to support the overpopulation of cats, and the cost per
cat at the local vet was not within their budget. However, they did manage to have the male
cat neutered. As luck would have it, one of the females became pregnant from a stray
Tom that was hanging around the property at the time.Three kittens were born to this one
mama: Buddy, Bootsie and Bonita. The wife called a local, but very small cat rescue and
mentioned that she wasn’t feeling very well and wanted to make sure places for the cats
could be found soon. When the rescue came to the house to pick up this little feline trio,
the wife was in the hospital and not ten days later, she passed away from cancer. Her
husband was definitely heartbroken. The adult cats were fine where they were, but he did
want them to find good homes soon. It was too much for him to look after them all on his
own, and now down to a single income.

Personality:

Buddy is a super sweet gentle boy who has enjoyed discovering all the fun toys to play with
at his foster home. He can be a bit shy at first, but quickly warms up to people. He, like his
siblings, is a bit chatty, letting you know he’s alone and would like attention. His favourite
thing to do is play with the cat dancer and laser pointer. We’ll often find him napping under
the cat dancer after a good play session. The only thing he likes more than that toy is being
brushed. The world stops and he melts when he’s getting a good brushing. He doesn’t
mind getting picked up and carried around. He is such a sweet boy, but does get a bit
spooked by loud noises and sudden movements. He’d do best in a home with older children and is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the
family and keep him safely indoors.
