Rescue:
A man and his wife live in a tiny house in a tiny village that just consists of a stop sign at their four
way stop and a church. There are houses close together and then just wide open farms fields.
When a stray cat shows up they tend to take refuge under someone’s deck or shed, and in the
case of Cindy Lou and Calvin’s mom, she had her kittens under the back porch. It was relatively
dry, and blocked from the wind, but it was not providing any sense of warmth especially from the
cold and rain. When this little feline family was first noticed the mom appeared to be quite
friendly and the man easily picked her up, but then he felt her tummy, had a look and saw that she
was nursing kittens. He found the nest where her babies were but could not reach them as they
were at the very back. He provided food and water to her daily and eventually she brought her
kittens to the feeding station when they were about six weeks old. Since the mom was friendly
she and her four little kittens came into Pet Patrol care and soon after and onto a foster home
where they received lots of love and attention.
Personality:
Cindy-Lou and Calvin are gentle, sweet and curious kittens. Both have adjusted to living in the sanctuary with the other cats without incident, and like the opportunity to play with the wide variety of toys. Calvin took it all in and Cindy Lou was not far behind him. These two are great pals and run around the room as if in an Indy 500 race, dashing through the cat tunnels and chasing toys all over the place. They are happy up on the cat tree so that they can see what is going on in the room and outside the window as well. Both will come for pets and back massages, like having their ears rubbed and will lay on the couch beside you. They don’t mind being picked up and carried and will often be found curled up in a puddle of fur and purr once tuckered out from playing. Cindy Lou and Calvin are ready to be adopted into their forever home. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
