Von

Rescue:

A couple who were living in a seasonal cottage area were out on a bike ride one very cool and
overcast day. They noticed that there were a lot of young cats on one property in particular.
The property was a little unkept, with many bushes and taller weeds, and some of the cats
were found under these clumps seeking refuge from the wind. The woman riding by was quite
concerned with the alarming number and wondered how they would survive with winter coming.
It appeared there was only a shed on the property other than the house for them to seek
shelter. She left the owner a note on the door, and he called her saying he would appreciate
any help possible in re-homing the cats. He was quite overwhelmed. In the meantime the
woman had sent a message to a local resident who in the past had helped with cat rescue,
and they went to scope out the situation. They found fifteen cats in total, of various colours and
most were very sweet, friendly and young. They were fed well and the man had tried to socialize
them to ensure that new homes could be found for them. All the cats were quite nice and
willing to be picked up and pet. The man chose to keep a few of the cats, and these have
been spayed or neutered, and have access in and out of the building.

Personality:

Von is a sweet and friendly kitten. He is the smallest of his siblings but that doesn’t keep him
back from playing and investigating. He is very active and is enjoys running around the playroom
at the sanctuary with the other cats and chasing the toys, climbing the cat trees and
sleeping in the sun. He likes to look out the window at the world and is quite happy to be
inside. Von is quite entertaining as he will play a game of catch, running after a soft toy and
bringing it back in is mouth. He is happy to be cuddled, picked up and purrs deeply with contentment.
Von is ready to be adopted into his forever home with a playmate or sibling. One
that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
