Rescue:
This seems to have been a popular place for stray cats to show up here this summer. The
sanctuary is located in the country and it is common to have barn cats wander onto the
property and helping themselves to the food station on the porch. But it is uncommon for
friendly cats to appear. One day this handsome boy who was eventually named Budd
came onto the property. Like the others he was frightened and skittish at first and would
take off like a shot whenever he noticed anyone looking at him. As the warm summer
weather approached, he was more noticeable and could often be found lying in the grass
under the tree to escape the heat of the day, hunting in the fields behind the building and
monitoring the property. Once Fall was upon us and the weather turned cold it was obvious
that he was quite miserable and not wanting to spend the winter outside. Coming into
the sanctuary proved to be such a positive experience for him and he has readily adjusted
to the completely indoor life.
Personality:
Budd is an awesome cat. He can be picked up and carried around, loves to be pet, cuddled
and will come to you for a lap nap. He is good with the other cats and older children
and would do well in a home with just one or two older cats or perhaps a passive dog (not
sure). Budd is a favourite here and is all about love and affection until you bring out a new
toy or one that is battery powered, then he becomes entranced. He is amazed at interactive
toys and likes to chase and catch any toy that moves as he is quite agile and athletic.
Budd is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the
family and keep him safely indoors
