Rescue:
We are not really sure where August and Aurora’s mother cat Ariel came from initially but
she ended up being in the care of people who should not have pets. Simply, they could not
take care of themselves and were living off other people. It was through the grapevine of
supporters for Pet Patrol that we heard about the cats that now numbered nine felines, and
at any time another litter could be born. The woman who had taken in this couple was
family and felt she should help them. But with nine cats and having severe allergies, they
were banished to the garage. Often the side door was left open and the cats started to
roam the neighbourhood, much to the displeasure of the avid gardeners nearby. Something had to be done. Our volunteers arrived and Ariel, her two youngest kittens, and three
teens came into our care. The other four had already been given to unknown people but
the offer for them to come to Pet Patrol was expressed.
Personality:
August and Aurora are both very affectionate and sweet. They love spending time with
their humans and soaking in a good snuggle and scratch session. Just as much as they
love being loved, they also enjoy playing – both with each other and with a human friend.
These two cuties go wild for dangly wand toys where they can play like hunters and chase
their pretend prey. Aurora is the younger of the two and can get lonely without her brother
or human companions around. This is why the two come as a bonded pair – they have
been together their whole lives and find comfort in each other. These siblings would do
great in a variety of home life styles – as long as they have someone to give them plenty of
love and affection. They are ready to be adopted into their forever home. One that will
welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors
