Rufus

Rufus

Rescue:

Rufus is a kitten that was being given away for free. Apparently the owners had the habit of
taking in cats but did not have them spayed or neutered, so quite quickly they multiplied. Once
they reached a certain age they were allowed outdoor to roam around the back yard, and of
course the rest of the neighbourhood. Much to the dismay and chagrin of the people surrounding them. Second problem was that the cats were not allowed back inside the house, little
shelter or food was provided – they were simply discarded. A woman knowing about the situation and seeing the kittens handed out to anyone, could not bear to see this happen to Rufus
and brought him into Pet Patrol care. She would have loved to have kept him but could only
afford the two that she had of her own and felt he would do well in a new and forever home

Personality:

Rufus just wants to be loved by everyone, human or feline. He has some huge bursts of energy where he loves to play with pipe cleaners, springs , mice or anything that moves, and he
has created games of Tag and Indy 500 with his new best buddy Binky. He loves being
around people and curling up on a lap for a nap, taking in a gentle pet or belly rub. Toys seem
to have been a mystery to him in the beginning, so that shows us that he did not have that
enrichment in his past home, but now he is learning how to play with Binky, and enjoys being
groomed by him, it is a daily event which created deep purrs of satisfaction, stretches and
kitty smiles. We thought that Rufus may be ok as an only cat, but now we see how much he
likes Binky and it would be nice for them to stay together. Rufus is ready to be adopted into
his forever home, ideally with Binky. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them
safely indoors.
