Rescue:
This handsome boy was first seen in a rural field and when a woman in a nearby garden called
to him, he came running. He wound around her legs, purred and wanted to be picked up and
petted right away. She noticed that he was thin and had a number of wounds around his neck
and shoulders and felt that he needed vet care. He followed her to the house where he was fed
and given a box with a pillow on the porch but not allowed indoors. His rescuer called a
woman in the area who knew of rescue organizations and who might be able to take Jiggs in.
At her suggestion the couple set him up in the garage and he showed that he was very
hungry and appreciative of a nice place to be out of the weather. His wounds were superficial
but cleaned and he settled in beautifully. A few days later he was brought to the sanctuary and
has done extremely well since then.
Personality:
Jiggs does not like to look at a camera – he is not a grumpy cat at all. Although he looks that
way in his photo, he actually has the cutest face and is quite adorable. He is so very affectionate as well. Jiggs will immediately turn to be held like a baby over your shoulder when you
pick him up. He wraps his front legs around you and nuzzles his face into your neck, Next is
the sigh of contentment followed by a deep purr which just melts your heart. When he is not
showing you this lovely attention, he is playing or snoozing in a warm sun beam. He is a great
cat who is not shy, very curious, friendly and people oriented. Jiggs is ready to be adopted
into h is forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
