Rescue:
Nickel’s mother was named Navy and she appeared one day on a rural property with her two
siblings Nash and Nellie. There are thirty acres of field and brush surrounding it and the neighbours are not within eyesight. There is a just a house and a small outbuilding on the property
and the people living there discovered the cats on their back deck early one morning, looking
for food. They thought the cats must have migrated from the closest farm to them, but still a
fair hike away for little felines. The barn is unoccupied and the house is rented out and the
“people come and go all the time. It is like a revolving door sometimes” they said. The couple
started feeding the cats, but didn’t want them to be permanent fixtures “we’re not sure where
they were finding shelter but the cats reappear every day” Knowing that the two females could
became pregnant soon, they rescued Nash and Nellie with the intention of bringing Navy in as
well, but unfortunately she disappeared only to reappear about a month later pregnant with
Neptune, Nickel and Nugget. All have been raised in a home and have thrived.
Personality:
Nickel is as sweet as they come. Always ready for a snuggle both with his siblings and with
people, he will seek out a lap to nap on, and rub up against your legs for attention. He is
active and playful, and likes to play with other kitty friends and chasing all the jingle balls he
can find. Like his siblings he is quite curious and interested in anything that moves. Nickel is
ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep
him safely indoors.
