Rescue:
Navy appeared one day on a rural property with her two siblings Nash and Nellie. There are
thirty acres of field and brush surrounding it and the neighbours are not within eyesight. There
is a just a house and a small outbuilding on the property and the people living there discovered the cats on their back deck early one morning, looking for food. They thought the cats
must have migrated from the closest farm to them, but still a fair hike away for little felines.
The barn is unoccupied and the house is rented out and the “people come and go all the time.
It is like a revolving door sometimes” they said. The couple started feeding the cats, but didn’t
want them to be permanent fixtures “we’re not sure where they were finding shelter but the
cats reappear every day” Knowing that the two females could became pregnant soon, they
rescued Nash and Nellie with the intention of bringing Navy in as well, but unfortunately she
disappeared only to reappear about a month later. She, too, was soon brought into our care.
Personality:
Navy is a calm and sweet presence to have around. She likes to keep watch over what is
happening in the house, and where everyone is, and will greet anyone who comes to see her
with a soft ‘hello’. She will come straight to you to get some love, kneads happily with her
paws and purrs contently. She is petite and very pretty with her flecks of grey and peach
throughout her fur. Navy is still exploring toys as she has never had them before and is happy
to play with a dangling string or toy mouse. She is ready to be adopted into her forever home.
One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
