Rescue:
Big, handsome Natto was noticed by two neighbourhood friends and they would see him
come around occasionally, would feed him and provide him with shelter over the winter. But
unfortunately, one of the friends moved away and the other lady kept feeding him for some
time afterwards. She had two cats of her own already and didn’t feel she could take him into
her home, he reminded her daily that he was living the rough life as she was his only source of
food. One day he showed up with a bloody gash on top of his head and the lady knew she had
to step in and help him. At this point Natto seemed to trust her and she was able to get within
a few feet of him. She called Pet Patrol for help using a humane trap to bring him into care..
He is a pretty big and strong boy, so the first attempt at rescuing him ended up with him bursting through the unsecured door, but he didn’t run far. He had so much trust in her that she was
able to lure him closer to the house with wet food and then she quickly picked him up and
brought him indoors. Wow! Our volunteer arrived soon afterwards and was quite impressed
that this boy never tried to hurt or bite anyone.
Personality:
Natto is a lovely boy, laid back and wanting to cuddle and be pet. He really appreciates laying
on your lap and sharing TV time or stretching out on the bed with you. He is a gentle player
and loves to chase the laser pen light or bat at the wand toy. Climbing the cat tree and gazing
out the window at the world is a good way to spend the afternoon. He has had enough of living
the rough life and is now enjoying all the luxuries that we are able to provide him. Natto is just
a good cat who is looking for a loving adult home where he can adore his people as they will
adore him. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors.
