Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a message from one of our long time volunteers who said that a cat had
been greeting the children as they got off the school bus, rubbing up against their legs and
purring greatly. It is not common these days to see friendly cats loose on the street, the most
alarming part of the story is that Olaf was regularly in the middle of the road. The moms would
go out into the road and pick him up and set him on the sidewalk. Not wanting to see harm
come to him our volunteer brought him into the sanctuary where we found that he was not
neutered and therefore no microchip either. Checking the lost cats sites, we found his owner
and were told that he and his brother Sven had bolted out the door of their home. Their owner
was grateful he was safe but texted back asking if we would be able to rehome him. She was
ill and scheduled for surgery within the next little while but also that day, in between our text
messages, she had fallen and broken her ankle. Things were just not going well and she didn’t
want to have to worry about him too. Olaf now in our care and ready to find a home.
Personality:
Olaf is definitely a cat meant to be with children. He is adorable and so loving and gentle with
everyone but he lights up when he sees kids and runs right to them. He is cuddly and sweet,
likes to be picked up and cuddled and is always interested in what the family is doing. He is
calmer now that he is neutered but he is still playful and loves his toys and the cat tree. He can
be found regularly gazing out the window, contentedly watching the world, but perks up when
you come home. Olaf is great with other cats and it would be nice for him to have a buddy
He is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family
and keep him safely indoors.
