Rescue:
Nellie and Nash appeared one day on a rural property. There’s thirty acres of field and brush
and the neighbours are not within eyesight. There is just a house and a small outbuilding on
the property. The people who discovered them thought these two young cats may have migrated from the closest property to them. It is house that is rented out and “people come and
go all the time. It is like a revolving door sometimes” they say. Nellie and Nash came to the
back door of the property looking for food and were a little timid to start with. The couple
started feeding the cats but did not want them to be a permanent fixture. “We’re not sure
where they were finding shelter but the cats reappear every day.” Knowing that Nellie would
become pregnant soon, the people brought them into Pet Patrol care.
Personality:
Nellie and her brother Nash can be found hanging out together in kitty cubby beds, on top of
the cupboards or cat trees. They do keep an eye on each other, but also get along with the
other cats in the sanctuary. Nellie is very pretty with her dilute calico markings and has a very
sweet disposition. She loves attention and affection and will flop over to be pet, purring deeply
and closing her eyes with content. Nellie likes to play with toys and so far, the simplistic ones
are catching her attentions. . She is great at chasing after it and catching it swiftly. She is
quite talented at that. Nellie has not been introduced to more sophisticated toys just yet, since
she seems to been quite enthralled to chase down a catnip mouse and chase a string. She
will graduate to more intricate toys in time. Nellie is ready to be adopt into her forever home,
hopefully with her brother Nash. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely
indoors.
