Rescue:
When one of Pet Patrol’s volunteers realized that a family member’s cat was pregnant he
was very disappointed. Being involved with cat rescue he knows first hand the enormous
amount of unwanted kittens born each year and had offered to have the mother cat spayed
some time before. He was able to keep watch over her by providing good quality food and
regular visits to ensure the kittens were born healthy and the mother was not struggling.
He was very eager to have them come into Pet Patrol care but It was difficult to negotiate
the release of the kittens, as they were well loved. Then one day the family member called
and said it was time and asked him to pick them up. He did not hesitate and went straight
over. Blue and Basil were just five months old at the time and arrived at their foster care
within half a day. They adjusted quickly and are in a loving and calm environment.
Personality:
Blue and Basil are very attached to each other. Blue is most certainly the vocal one of the
pair. He loves attention and will actively seek it out when his foster mom comes home. He
loves to rub up against people’s legs, rolls around to show his belly and purrs like a locomotive. Basil was a little bit shy in the beginning, however quite quickly he opened up and
he is just an ever-so-sweet boy. His way of seeking attention is by consistently rolling
against you especially if you are sitting down. He loves to give kisses to his foster mom’s
hands, rolls over and shows his belly and he loves a good chase after the laser toy. They
are adventurous by nature and just always full of joy and playfulness. They are both good
about being picked up and cuddled. These two are a great pair together and display their
affection for each other by cuddling up together, grooming and walking side by side. Blue
and Basil are ready to be adopted into their forever home. One that will welcome them into
the family and keep them safely indoors.
