Mushroom

Rescue:

Little Mushroom and her four siblings were born to Maisie, who is described as “amazing!”
Here is the message received about her dilemma: “A couple of years back, my wife and I
adopted two kittens from your cat rescue. They are both doing fine. Last February, a stray
showed up at the backdoor. Obviously pregnant and looking for a home. I thought she’d move
on but apparently not. She has been holed up and made a home in one of my boats. Do you
have a list of organizations that would be interested in this cat. She has not had her kittens
yet…… but soon. Because of health concerns with my own cats, I haven’t attempted to pick the
cat up. She appears friendly and starved for affection, but in good health. I have given her
some kibble out of compassion which is probably why the cat is still here. It’s certainly approachable and was probably a “drop off “. The neighbor has a barn, but emphatically says it’s
not his cat. It’s-13 degrees this morning and I’ve seen three coyotes. I am glad she will go
somewhere warm and safe to have her litter and I know you will find them all good homes.”
That same day Maisie was brought into Pet Patrol care and within a week gave birth.

Personality:

Mushroom is as soft as can be. She likes to be held and cuddled when she is tired but loves
to play and climb all over people when she is wide awake. Mushroom is very active with toys,
especially ones that roll and move, and are easy to pick up. She has spent the first weeks of life
with her mama and siblings and initially was a bit nervous going into new rooms and situations. She is much braver now and adjusts fairly quickly. Mushroom would do best being
adopted with another of her siblings or into a home with a social cat who can show her the
ropes. She is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the
family and keep her safely indoors
