Rescue:

This handsome boy showed up at a large open market area just before Easter weekend. He
seems concerned as to why he was there, he was out of his element. There is a small colony
of cats there who are all fixed, fed daily and provided shelter year round. A small cat rescue
takes care of them and watches for any new arrivals such as Elroy. The other cats there did
not quite give him a warm welcome and he was being pushed away from the food, and the
limited comforts, towards the busy road. They were trying to run him off into a dangerous
situation. His colony care giver noticed this gang mentality happening as she was driving
towards the feeding station and stopped her vehicle. She got out to redirect him away from
the road as the other cats ran back to their shelter. That is when he approached her, with his
tail up and pleading for help, and she knew he did not fit in there and was likely dumped off.
She was easily able to secured Elroy and brought him into a vet clinic to check for a microchip, there was none and he had not been neutered either. Pet Patrol was asked if we could
take him in and find him a good home as the smaller rescue was at capacity.

Personality:

Elroy has proven, from the minute he arrived at the sanctuary, to be a sweet, loving and happy
cat. He rolls around wanting his belly rubbed, ears and neck scratched and all body petting.
He is super friendly and good with everyone coming into the sanctuary. When shown toys he
knew exactly what to do with them and immediately started chewing on them and rolling
around in his bed. Just like a kitten would. Because he is new to the sanctuary we have not
integrated him in with the other cats just yet, but he has not growled or hissed at anyone. Elroy
is a good sized boy, outgoing and very social. He will be a nice addition to any home. He is
ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep
him safely indoors.
