Rescue:
Pet Patrol often helps other small cat rescue organizations in regards to taking in cats that
they have no room for, are unable to afford medical care for or have not been able to adopt
them out yet. Through generous donations we are able to help these cats find their forever
homes. Pretty little Darcie came from a beef farm, where there were a number of cats living on
the property. The owners are very conscious of the number of cats they choose to have to
control their rodent population, and they treat them well. They are fed daily and have a warm
place to be in the barn during cold winter months but most importantly they are handled, pet,
picked up and treated respectfully. They chose to have Darcie taken to a cat rescue because
they presumed she was pregnant at the time, however no kittens were born. The cat rescue
could no longer provide a foster home for her and they reached out to Pet Patrol. Darcie was
housed with another cat called Cleopatra before coming to Pet Patrol, and they have become
fast friends. They are together in their foster home.
Personality:
Darcie is adorable. She is sweet, friendly, affectionate with her people and other cats and is
easy to integrate into a new environment. When she arrived at the sanctuary with her BFF
Cleopatra, she immediately started eating and was quite happy to settle into the cozy cat
bed provided for her. She has proven to be a lovely cat, good for a family setting or a couple.
She is playful and active, loves to watch the birds and squirrels out the window from the top of
the cat tree. Like most young cats they like to investigate anything new and intriguing. She
uses the scratching post nicely. Darcie is ready to be adopted into her forever home with her
BFF Cleopatra. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
