Rescue:

Poor Mickey, as friendly as he is no one would take him into safely and he endured the entire
winter outside. Pet Patrol often receives cats from a smaller cat rescue organization up north,
that has high intake and not enough adoptions to keep up. He was first noticed in a park near
a subdivision and he was limping. People became concerned for this nice boy and he was
easily picked up and placed in a cat carrier and taken to the sanctuary for safety and to receive
help. In asking about him and where he came from, according to the neighbours Mickey had
been an owned cat and allowed to be indoor/outdoor. He was not neutered and it was doubtful that he had any vaccinations. But his owners had moved and did not take him with them,
which is very sad and very traumatic for Mickey. Once in Pet Patrol care he has shown us how
nice and personable he is and has settled in nicely.

Personality:

Mickey is chatty when he wants your attention and especially at treat time. He is very affectionate and social, liking his people to pet and brush him, and in return he will bunt his head
into your hand for more, lean his body into you for a cuddle and purr deeply. He is very playful
and the catnip toys were a huge hit. He absolutely loves interactive toys, the cat tree, tunnel
and like most cats once they are tuckered out from playing – a nice cardboard box to nap in.
Mickey is good with all people but we are not sure about children or dogs. He is good company though and has done well when meeting the other cats here at the sanctuary. Mickey is
ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep
him safely indoors.
