Rescue:
A woman had left a message on the Pet Patrol line just saying her name
and her phone number and to call her. That was all. It was a mystery
because most people are quite chatty and wanting to adopt a cat from us
or they have questions and are seeking information. In calling her we
did find a very sincere woman who needed to find a new home for her two
cats, Nova and Chip, just eight months of age at the time. She had
recently moved to the area from the other side of Canada and was told by
the landlord that she was not allowed to have cats in the house. They
had not been fixed, had never been to a vet and were at the age to breed
or start spraying in the house. All being undesirable to a property
owner. The woman lived in a small village and meet up with our
volunteer who brought both cats into our care. She was very grateful for
our help.
Personality:
Nova and Chip are lovely little cats who are used to people, dogs,
teenagers and changing of their environment. They have been in a car
for a long drive, introduced to a new home, and lived in an apartment
with an adult, a teenager and several dogs. They fared very well with
all those changes, and now in a foster home they remain curious and
affectionate. Both are easy to be picked up, carried and like to be pet
or brushed on your lap. They cuddle up at bedtime and settle in for the
night. Chip loves to play with water dripping from the tap and because
he was taken from his mother too young he suckles on blankets. He loves
his sister Nova, even though she is a little more reserved than he is.
Our thoughts are that a quieter home will bring out the best in her.
Nova and Chip are ready to be adopted into their forever home together.
One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
