Rescue:
Coral and her four siblings/cousins were brought to Pet Patrol unexpectedly. We received a
phone call saying that a woman, who had many, many cats in her home, was in the nearby town
looking for a rescue to help take in some of the cats. She had five in the car. We gladly took
them in, not knowing what she would do if we didn’t, but we were already near capacity and unsure
how to house five more. We tried to find out the full story and it seems that these cats were from
an extreme hoarding situation. The house was so badly cluttered and infested with bugs, rotting
food and feces that animal welfare was called to investigate. In the end Pet Patrol received five
cats, two other rescues took eight each and a city shelter took almost twenty. They are all lovely
cats, friendly and gentle, but all had upper respiratory that had been ongoing for a while. The
cats responded extremely well to the medical care provided and are now ready for adoption
Personality:
Coral is a chatty little cat who is quite trusting of people despite her past in an over populated environment. She becomes very excited while being pet chirping and mewing when she wants attention and back rubs. She enjoys sitting at the window and watching the world outside, then curling up for a nap in the sun. Toys are new to Coral, but chasing around toy mice has quickly become her favourite, as well as using her scratching post. She adjusted very quickly in her foster home and is comfortable with other cats. She is a fun little cat who is happy to have a second chance at life. Coral is quite attached to her sister Celia, and the two are often found playing or snuggling together. It would be ideal for them to be adopted together, into their forever home. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
