Rescue:
Callie and her four siblings/cousins were brought to Pet Patrol unexpectedly. We received a
phone call saying that a woman, who had many, many cats in her home, was in the nearby town
looking for a rescue to help take in some of the cats. She had five in the car. We gladly took
them in, not knowing what she would do if we didn’t, but we were already near capacity and unsure
how to house five more. We tried to find out the full story and it seems that these cats were from
an extreme hoarding situation. The house was so badly cluttered and infested with bugs, rotting
food and feces that animal welfare was called to investigate. In the end Pet Patrol received five
cats, two other rescues took eight each and a city shelter took almost twenty. They are all lovely
cats, friendly and gentle, but all had upper respiratory that had been ongoing for a while. The
cats responded extremely well to the medical care provided and are now ready for adoption.
Personality:
Callie is a beautiful calico cat, who’s long coat has improved greatly since coming into our care.
She is friendly and affectionate, likes to be pet and cooed over. Like a lot of long haired cats, she
loves to be brushed and pampered and purrs happily while you are taking care of her. There are
still so many toys that she can be introduced to, which will bring out the kitten in her and help her
continue to be active and playful. Her favorite toys are the wand with a dangling toy on the end,
that she swats and runs after but the most sought after ones have catnip in them. Callie is a
petite cat who is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the
family and keep her safely indoors
