Rescue:

It is a sad story for Tom. He is a very handsome sweet cat who will purr and push his head into
your hand he’s quite loving and affectionate and his life so far has been miserable. As a cat of
age, he has spent nine of his eleven years living in just one bedroom, with four other cats. The
home was occupied by an alcoholic husband and wife, they were hoarders as well, which
makes for an unsafe environment. The wife suddenly died and the husband would not have
anything to do with the cats before, and continued that path of resistance. All five of the cats
have lived their life in this one room. Why? Because they owned a dog that would destroy the
cats. Instead of finding good homes for them so they can live a normal life she chose to keep
them isolated. It has taken quite some time for Tom to settle into the sanctuary as his life has
been completely turned upside down. But he is a survivor and he will do well.

Personality:

Such a sweet cat. Tommy, once he was reassured and comfortable being in the sanctuary,
would push his head into our hands for petting. He is a dear cat who will be good company for
a mature person, snuggling up on your lap and purring deeply. He is fine with other cats, easy
going, observant and affectionate. He is not much for playing as of yet (we are not sure how
much play time or interaction there was with his previous owner) but anything with catnip is
such fun. Tommy was the friendliest of the litter and happy to be pet, brushed and cuddled.
His coat has improved greatly while in our care. Tommy is ready to be adopted into his forever
home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
