Buttercup

Buttercup

Buttercup

Rescue:

This pretty little cat has had quite a time of it. Her life has been pretty rough but she is now
a happy and healthy cat, ready for her new family. She was found a little disoriented in the
middle of the road, in front of a lady’s house. This was a road, in the country, with about
six or seven homes surrounded by farmer’s fields. She had been attacked by another
animal as there were obvious bite wounds on and around her head. Several were on the
top of her head, others were behind her ear and under her chin. The woman immediately
picked her up and carried Buttercup into her home to a nice room. Under better light she
could see the severity of her condition and contacted Pet Patrol. Immediately taken to the
sanctuary, late in the evening, it was quickly determined that Buttercup needed vet care
and was at the clinic as soon as they open the doors. After a five day stay and responding
to her medication beautifully, Buttercup went to her foster home to recuperate. She has
thrived without issues and is one lucky cat.

Personality:

Buttercup has come a long way from her days on the farm. She didn’t take any time getting
used to being indoors. She is still quite nervous when approached, but will come to
you for petting and enjoys having her belly rubbed and her ears scratched. She has discovered
toys, especially catnip ones that she loves to chase around or toss in the air. It’s hard
to believe that Buttercup is a middle-aged cat, because she is so lively. When cats come
into our care without a birthdate their age is predicted by their teeth. Poor diet and rough
living contribute to the teeth aging before the cat. Buttercup would probably enjoy being the
only cat in an adult home, where her people would be patient with her as she becomes
more confident. She is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One where she is part
of the family and is kept safely indoors.
