Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a message from the vet clinic where we take our cats to be spayed or
neutered. They were concerned about an owned cat that was brought in as it had a large
growth on its muzzle. They said it was too large to remove that day and were concerned
about it getting bigger. Time was of the essence. In contacting the family about it they
were unsure if they would be able to afford the almost thousand dollar surgery and after
care cost. There was a discussion about the kitty coming into Pet Patrol care but her family
needed more time to process the idea. Bownita returned home after her spay surgery and
the family thought about her quality of life, the financial aspect, and because she was
presently a barn cat, the fact that she could not live outside any more. Within a week
Bownita was in Pet Patrol care and awaiting her surgery. She was only here a few days
when the large bulbous lump on her muzzle was successfully removed and she is now a
happy and healthy cat.

Personality:

Bownita is a very social and affectionate cat. She is at her most comfortable when cradled
in your arms like a baby. She is never too far from her people, considers herself part of the
family and wants to be involved with all aspects of family life. It is not very often that Pet
Patrol is able to help rescue a cat that is so kid friendly. Most have had traumatic experiences
before being rescued and the activity level of a family can be frightening. But little
Bonita is definitely different and her world should include children over twelve. She is very
happy go lucky, playful and fun loving. She likes to play with her toys, especially ones that
are interactive with her people. She is good with other cats, new people and new surroundings.
Bownita is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome
her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
