Rescue:
One of Pet Patrol‘s volunteers had received a call in regards to some kittens on a farm.
This is a nice tidy property well off the road which provides a safe haven for roaming cats.
However, they felt they had too many at the time. There were at least two or three adults,
and four teenagers and then there were tiny kittens. When our volunteer arrived it was a
very cold rainy fall day and everything felt damp and chilled. Going into the clean barn she
found the kittens were in a cage, surrounded by a cement wall with straw on the floor. It
was very cold in there and the kittens were all cuddled very tightly in one corner, doing their
best to keep themselves warm. Quickly they were placed in carriers and brought back to
the warmth of the sanctuary. Most of them needed some eye medication for a mild infection,
but otherwise they were bright and alert. They had only been fed mothers milk, sparingly,
and when introduced to kitten kibble they devoured it. It has been wonderful to watch
these kittens go from scared and skinny too happy and healthy.
Personality:
Amber and Albus are usually intertwined with each other. Both are very sweet kittens who
will come to you for pets and a cuddle on your lap and sweetly purr. They are curious and
don’t like to miss anything, check out anything new and watches where their people are
going and doing. As playful kittens they seek out each other for running through tunnels
and chasing a wand toys. Often, they are found snuggled together sleeping in laundry
baskets or on the window sill in the sun. Amber and Albus are ready to be adopted into
their forever home. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
