Lucy

Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a call from one of our volunteers saying that they would have to rehome
their cat, Lucy. She was fine in their home until they got a puppy, she became upset. Then
they got another puppy and Lucy was having none of it. We offered to post her on our website
but they found a home for her on their own. A few weeks later we received a call from a
woman who said that she and her partner had found a cat on the side of the road. They said it
had been found roaming a neighbourhood and no one knew where she had come from. What
was most outstanding was they said they found her in a cat carrier half hidden in the long
grass. She soon was in Pet Patrol care. As they say, it is a small world and soon we found
out that the cat the couple “found” was actually Lucy and they had adopted from our volunteer.
They had decided to tell a tall tale in order for Pet Patrol to take her in. Not necessary. Having
no microchip, we did not know it was the same cat. Lucy is fine though, safe and enjoying her
foster home as the only cat.

Personality:

Lucy is very affectionate and friendly. She wants to be pet and cuddled, sits on your lap and
lays across your chest at every opportunity. She can be picked up without issues and is especially
snuggly at bedtime. She has no fear of heights, even venturing to the top of cupboards,
but she is learning about boundaries with counters and tables. She is quite intelligent. Sunning
herself in the windows is a nice past time and watching the neighbourhood activities and
what the wild life and traffic are doing. She is becoming more playful now as her foster mom
is entertaining her with wand toys and a variety of interactive toys like the laser pen light. She
is quite polite and does not scratch furniture but like all cats she will knead anything soft. Lucy
would do best in an adult only home with no other pets and no children. She is easily startled
by sudden movements and noises but confident otherwise. Lucy is a lovely cat and would be
good company in her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors.
