Rescue:
A woman who lives in a small town had been feeding cats in her area for quite a few years.
The adult cats don’t stick around too long after dropping off their kittens to her back porch.
They know that they will be looked after, fed and provided with some shelter. It is a safe haven
for them and they happily play in her gardens and bask in the sun. They huddle up in their little
house at bedtime but still, they are exposed to the elements every minute of the day, and are
at risk of becoming prey. Now she had six little ones who were running around and she just
knew that she was not going to be able to find homes for them. In the past she had rehomed
other cats and their offspring with friends and family but now she had exhausted her contacts.
In calling Pet Patrol we knew that these kittens would be happy, healthy and had been handled
and we gladly took them in. Dandy, Dixie, Daisy, Deja and Duranto were soon enjoying toys
and a comfy warm bed at the sanctuary before going to their foster home.
Personality:
Daisy & Dixie are bonded sisters. They can be found curled up together, napping or playing,
and both will run to greet with lots of purrs when they see you. They love a good lap to curl up
on and snuggle. Both are quite playful and any toy is investigated and tested. Running through
the kitty tunnel is a favourite, and pouncing on any sibling or toy on the other end is priceless.
The toy mice that squeak are fun and so are the springy toys. These girls seek each other out
and will cry if one doesn’t see the other, very cute and definitely a sign that they should be
adopted together. Daisy and Dixie are ready to be adopted into their forever home. One that
will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
