Rescue:
Tamara’s story as told by her rescuer: A lady commented on my social media post, that I had
had shared about my foster kittens, “come to my house, lots of kittens, take your pick.” I
reached out to find she had 24 cats – 8 adults and 16 kittens. I offered to help get them fixed, if
feral into barn homes and the kittens into rescues. They’ve been living around her home, on
her porches mostly and she feeds them but that’s about it. It’s unfortunately a typical
situation…she didn’t get the first few strays fixed and then quickly ended up with 24. She
originally reached out to the local city shelter about taking them there but didn’t get a response,
so did nothing further until I contacted her. Now that I’m helping her, she’s willing to
trap, transport, etc. She’s thankful for the help from me and now Pet Patrol. their story in a
nutshell” (Pet Patrol took in Tamara while she was very pregnant and within ten days she gave
birth to Tommen and Theon.
Personality:
Tamara is sweet and likes attention. She will come over for pets and will always have “happy
feet” as she walks around to get the perfect scratching spot on her body. She can sometimes
get overstimulated with the petting sessions and will retreat to a safe spot and then come
back for more. Over time this will improve with more attention and she will stay with her people
longer. Since she has never had the opportunity to be in a home before and have soft surfaces,
it has taken her some time to accommodate, so when she finally flopped on the comfy
bed her foster mom was thrilled. The same for toys, an odd thing to her initially, but they too
have intrigued her. Tamara is just learning what soft surfaces are and that toys can be fun.
This pretty kitty is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into
the family and keep her safely indoors.
