ADOPTION PROFILE

Fonzie

Fonzie

Fonzie

Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a call from a woman who had helped out quite a while ago. She lives on a
farm property that has beef cattle, there is a large barn with some resident cats in there and
their own cats in the house. One day, out of the blue, this poor boy showed up looking for
help. This was Fonzie. He first appeared on her back porch and wanted in the house right
away. He was very friendly and very sweet, and she felt he was a young cat and in desperate
need of help. She had checked with the neighbours but they didn’t know where he came from
either so it is assumed that he was abandoned. It’s not uncommon for people to dump cats in
the country thinking that it is a good life for them, but it’s far from the truth. Farmers don’t want
extra cats on the property and the resident barn cats aren’t very fond of having to share their
food with a newcomer. They will often run them off, to not a good end. The woman realized
that Fonzie was probably a house cat at one time, and needed to get back to that life style.
Soon he was on his way to Pet Patrol and has settled in nicely.

Personality:

Named by his rescuer, Fonzie has shown us nothing but love and affection since he came to
the sanctuary. He is a very affectionate and loving cat who nudges his head into your hand for
petting and looks up at you with love in his eyes. He is so appreciative of being indoors,
where it is warm, climate controlled and has plenty of food and soft beds. He loves his toys
and is a focused hunter for the wand toy and anything you toss across the room, especially if it
has catnip in it. He has integrated into the sanctuary with the other cats without incident and
greets new people as they come in the door. Such a nice boy. Fonzie is ready to be adopted
into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
