Rescue:

A husband and wife, who live in a small town close to the sanctuary, had been feeding a
mother cat for several years. It was clear that she had shelter somewhere in the neighbourhood
and she was in good health and had shiny coat, so no one was worried about her. Problem
was : she continually had kittens because she was not spayed. At least twice yearly she
produced a litter of kittens. Most were rescued and re homed but some disappeared. It was
very difficult to rescue the mother, as she was very wise to the trap. The couple noticed the
kittens were coming up onto their back deck and they began feeding them. This made their
rescue very easy. The food was put into a humane trap and the door was propped open with
a stick that had a string attached. As the kittens began feeding and were engrossed in their
tasty food, the man pulled the string and the door closed safely behind them. The kittens were
then brought into Pet Patrol care, two in one day. The third attempt at rescuing the kittens
resulted in the mother being rescued. They were overjoyed and by the next afternoon the last
kitten came into our care. All are safe, cared for and the mother has now been spayed.

Personality:

Dawn and Dawson are quite bonded to each other. Although they have a sister, DiDi, that they
love dearly, these two are generally found curled up together, snoozing away or grooming each
other. DiDi does look for them and joins in as well. Like all kittens they like to run and play,
chase after each other, have surprise moments of pouncing on each other and popping out
from around the corner. They love the cat tree and looking out the windows at the birds and
squirrels, keeping tabs on the neighbourhood as well. All three of these little cats are cuddly
and accepting of pets. They may be a bit shy when going into their new home, but will soon
make themself at home and charm their people. Dawn, Dawson and Didi are ready to be
adopted into their forever home. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them
safely indoors.
