Rescue:
The following text message came from a Pet Patrol volunteer who helps out at the sanctuary:
“A friend had three kittens around her house…then there were two and now just one. Something
got the other two. She noticed blood on her deck this morning. Wanting to save the last
one, she caught it with a humane trap, tried to transfer it to a dog crate in her garage but it
escaped. It’s still in her garage. She’s going to try and trap it again tonight. I know you are
overloaded right now with kittens. I just thought I’d see if there was maybe room for one more
should she catch it. She just lives in the next town. Thank you.” Once in Pet Patrol we had to do
a little shuffling to make room for QT as it is a busy time of year for rescuing kittens before the
winter weather approaches. But were able to accommodate this little one named QT.
Personality:
QT was a little unsure of her new surroundings when she came to the sanctuary, and again
when she went to her new foster home, but this pretty girl does not take long to settle in. Just a
few days of love and she is fine. She loves the attention and snuggles, and purrs deeply when
you pet her. She is definitely a bedtime kitty and will cuddle with you at night, and is learning
that movie time is a good opportunity to be on a person’s lap. She doesn’t understand why
the resident cat could possibly not like her, lol, and she is not bothered by the rejection. She
knows her name and uses the scratching post and hasn’t scratched anything else. QT has
been discovering the new toys in her foster home, and they are rotated on a daily basis, so
she thinks she is getting something new every day. QT is ready to be adopted into her forever
home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
