Rescue:

For quite a few years one of Pet Patrol’s foster homes had been regularly visiting a friend’s
family farm. She had not been there for quite some time as her friend had moved to another
city. Reunited again they decided to go back for a quick visit and our volunteer was quite
surprised at what she found. There were so many more cats there now, as opposed to the
nicely controlled colony of five or six, a few years back. There were about twenty cats, and
most were not spayed or neutered. The new owners were not doing much to control the overpopulation.
Little Nyx came into our care with three other kittens who were not in great health.
Their diet was poor at the farm, low quality and they had to squeeze in between the adults to
get to the food dish. Some times they were pushed away. They would have had parasites as
well and generally did not look good. Their chance of survival was very low. When the kittens
arrived in our care they were dewormed right away and when presented with proper kitten
food, they ate and ate and ate. There was a remarkable difference in them the next day with
full bellies and a good night sleep. They felt so much better, were lively and very happy.

Personality:

Wilma is the bravest of the two and there is nothing she won’t try. She likes to be first. She is
the usual kitten – play play play, sleep and then start the cycle again. There isn’t a toy she has
met that she does not like. She will supervise the litter cleaning and anything else her foster
mom is doing. Willa will take a little time to adjust to her new home/people but she is food
motivated and likes her treats. She is quite affectionate, loves pets and gives little kitty kisses.
When she sees or hears you her tail goes straight up and she runs to you. Quite a little purr
machine. Both cats have been around small dogs and will be fine with a passive one.
These two sisters love sitting on or in the cat tree and watching the great outdoors from the
safety of their perch. They are ready to be adopted them to their forever home. One that will
welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors
